The Art of Giving

“There was a man, they called him mad. The more he gave, the more he had.” ~ John Bunyan

Be My Guest

It is my privilege to give away stuff for free.

Yes, I am a poor uni student. But so what? It doesn’t stop me from spreading the ideas and projects I care about the most (it doesn’t stop you either by the way).

The gifts you find here are deeply rooted in my life. They are the disco ball to my dance floor. I look back at these projects and I smile.

I hope you receive these gifts with pleasure – it can be difficult, I know, but seriously, be my guest. Begin to think about how you can add value to people’s life. Hint: It’s the little things…

The art of giving is a meaningful act. Our inner disco ball feels great inside and we start to beam.

It is how we will survive (and thrive) in the 21st century.

Books

I wrote this book after my mum got sick with the blood disease polycythemia vera. It was a tough time for the whole family, and this was my way to deal with the situation.

I just had to create something.

One morning, I followed my mum to the hospital and she said that it was a pity all her blood went to waste. As part of the treatment, doctors had to drain my mum from blood. They threw away her blood every month.

Bear in mind, this was before Twilight and True Blood.

Around the same time, we went to Australia to visit my sister. Over there, I started jotting down ideas about a girl called Sophie, and a new adventure could begin.

What’s It About?

It tells the story of Sophie, a young girl, who is about to discover the true meaning of life as she stumbles upon a homeless man. Together they set off on a magical journey, exploring the powers of human goodness. At the same time Sophie must deal with an absent mother and brother, a distracted father and the fear of losing her best friend.

My warmest thanks goes to Filippa Nordlander for illustrating this book.

Now please share this story with your friends and family.

But please do not sell or alter this story for your own financial gain. Yeah? Good. Let’s go!

What to Do Next?

OK, so you feel bad for getting stuff for free. Please don’t. We give and take things every day.

However, if you can, please consider donating blood. It’s the greatest gift of all ;)
